Ageless Body/Timeless Mom: On Aging and Momming and My Twenty Year Quest to lose the same Ten Pounds

I’m a forty-something NYC Mom who worries about aging, parenting, and whether or not the fact that I just got a bunion means that I’ll never ever be able to buy a pair of Blahniks…even if I could afford them, or walk in them.

After nearly 20 years of writing promos for tv (think coming attraction for tv shows), I’ve stopped working and started momming my twins full-time. I still write for pay from time to time, but as of now, I’m writing for my pleasure, and for yours, I hope. I also blog a few times a month at NYCMOMSblog. Plus, I’m hoping that eventually, somebody with a big publishing house and a big budget will stumble upon my site, and turn me into the straight, female housewife version of David Sedaris I know I am.

Read my blog if you’re sick of hearing how young you’re supposed to be. (And to find out what I’m doing to try to look as young as I possibly can.) Read my blog if you know that you’re not the perfect Mom, you never will be, and really think life would be boring if you were. Read my blog to make a virtual friend, to laugh, to commiserate, to feel oh so superior when I really really mess up.

Welcome to my blog. Welcome to my world. I hope you come back often.

Hello there. I felt compelled to read your blog, because, after all, it’s yours. However as I read it, I feel all the testosterone (and, mind you, I’ve got a considerable amount stashed) being siphoned away from my body.

The one concession I make to my spouse is to watch Grey’s Atatomy. I lose man energy watching this girly series as well, but I find your blog is even more efficient.

Nonetheless, I’ll visit your blog often, in lieu of a cold shower 🙂

Love your blog, Nancy. I feel as if you’re talking to me on the sofa; that’s how natural and effortless the writing is. It’s also honest and very funny. Keep ’em coming.

Hey! Just started my own blog and started scouting around the net in search of other blogs out there. Came across your post on NYC Moms Blog “Comments of Comments” and though, “Yikes! How awful!!” So, just wanted to say, sorry that happened…hopefully the troll has disappeared from your virtual space, and that in reading that few things I have, I can tell the awful person is wrong : ) Good luck, stay strong…and happy blogging.
